以祖輩的智慧，記錄時(shí)間的記憶

In Ruian, Wenzhou, there is a spread of a history of 800 years of cultural handcraft. From word to word, it records the events of the world, the vicissitude of cities, the ups and downs of families.It is Woodcut Movable Type Printing.It's a skill, a heritage, and a story of time.

在溫州瑞安，流傳著一個(gè)有著800年歷史文化的技藝，它一字一句記錄下世間之事，城市的興衰，家族的跌宕。它就是木活字印刷。它是技藝，是傳承，是時(shí)間的故事。

It is well known that Woodcut Movable Type Printing is one of the four great inventions of China. Ruian Woodcut Movable Type Printing originated from the Movable Type Printing invented by Bi Sheng in the Northern Song Dynasty. The type is made of wood, and it relies on a set of formula, which is passed from word to word. The key lies in the printer's mastery of the whole set of procedures of handcraft, such as calligraphy, engraving and formula.

木活字印刷是中國(guó)的四大發(fā)明之一。瑞安木活字印刷，源自北宋年間畢昇發(fā)明的活字印刷術(shù)，傳承古法，字模用的是木頭，依靠一套口訣，口耳相傳，其關(guān)鍵之處便在于印刷者對(duì)書法、雕版、口訣等木活字印刷全套程序的掌握。

At the same time, the selection of material plays an important role. From the choice of wood engraving font, to the choice of ink painting paper, they are all exquisite. It will take more than ten minutes for a professional master to make a font; and there are 500-700 wood words which have been commonly used, plus the uncommon vulgar words can be a total of more than 3000.It can be imagined that only the type matrix production is a great deal.

與此同時(shí)，選擇材料是關(guān)鍵。從刻印字模的木材選擇，到油墨宣紙的選擇，皆有講究，專業(yè)師傅制作一個(gè)字模便須十多分鐘，木字粒常用的有500—700個(gè)，加上不常用的入俗字便能共有3000多個(gè)，可想而知，僅字模制作便是一個(gè)大工程。

Ruian Movable Type Printing is the inheritance of skills and also undertakes the responsibility of compiling genealogies, which is what the Wang family has always been doing.

瑞安活字印刷是技藝的傳承，也承擔(dān)著編修宗譜的職責(zé)，這也是王家一直在做的事情。

From the beginning of the Wang family's ancestor in the early Yuan Dynasty to the 14th generation heir Wang Chaohui, the craftsmanship of Wood Movable Type Printing has been passed down in the Wang family for 24 generations. Not only that, but Wang's genealogist also taught his family's wood type printing skills to relatives and friends in the same village, and even scholars from other surnames and counties. Today, the Wang family has also trained many foreign surname Woodcut Movable Type Printing heirs.

自元初祖輩起，至王家第14代傳人王超輝，木活字印刷的手藝在王家薪火相傳，至今已承 24 代。不唯如此，王家譜師還把本家木活字印刷的手藝傳授給同村親友，甚至外姓、外縣的求學(xué)者——如今，王家也培養(yǎng)了多個(gè)外姓木活字傳人。

In Ruian, Pingyang, Yongjia and other places, genealogical editing ceremony will be held, with each stroke, the genealogists carefully take the visitors into the genealogical tree. The profession dedicated to cultivate genealogy for a clan is also known as: a genealogist. People in Zhejiang attach great importance to blood origin. Even today, each clan still has an ancestral hall and their own pedigree.

在瑞安、平陽(yáng)、永嘉等地會(huì)舉行編修宗譜的儀式，譜師用一筆一劃，慎重地將來訪者修入家譜。專為宗族修族譜的職業(yè)，又被稱為：譜師。浙江人對(duì)血脈淵源尤為重視，即使在今天，每個(gè)氏族還保有著祠堂和族譜。

The pedigree needs to be reprinted and fill in the new information every 30 years. This is the responsibility of the genealogist. As a unique profession in this small village, behind these pedigrees which are handed down and protected from generation to generation of the genealogists, is the salvation of an ancient civilization. The source of human wealth and knowledge is the brand from generation's extend.

族譜每過30年便需要重新翻印，填補(bǔ)信息。譜師的職責(zé)，便在于此。作為在這個(gè)小村莊里獨(dú)有的職業(yè)，在這些被譜師們修繕保護(hù)著的代代相傳的族譜的背后，是對(duì)一段千古文明的拯救，而人類財(cái)富和知識(shí)的來源正是來源這一代一代的烙印。

However, with the introduction of modern Western Printing Technology to China, the modern printing industry in China has risen, and the traditional Wood Movable Type Printing process has gradually declined. At present, Ruian Movable Type Printing is the only "active state" representative of Movable Type Printing remaining in our country. In 2010, Ruian Wood Movable Type Printing was selected into the UNESCO's "List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Protection". The inheritance and protection of wood movable type printing has long been urgent.

然而，隨著西方近代印刷技術(shù)傳入中國(guó)，中國(guó)近代印刷業(yè)興起，傳統(tǒng)的木活字印刷工藝逐步走向衰落，現(xiàn)如今，瑞安活字印刷術(shù)已是我國(guó)存留的關(guān)于活字印刷術(shù)的唯一“活態(tài)”代表。2010 年，瑞安木活字印刷術(shù)入選聯(lián)合國(guó)教科文組織“急需保護(hù)的非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)名錄”，木刻活字印刷的繼承與守護(hù)，早已刻不容緩。

Wood movable type printing has long been not only a craft, but also a symbol of the wisdom of ancient Chinese people. The pen, book, knife and seal are guarded by ingenuity. Behind the inheritance of modern intangible cultural heritage, it is people's relay of Chinese culture and international exchanges.

木活字印刷早已不僅僅是一種技藝，更是中國(guó)古人智慧的象征。筆書刀篆，匠心守護(hù)，在現(xiàn)代非遺文化傳承的背后，是人們對(duì)中華文化的接力與國(guó)際交流。
